Comilla - Mainamati, located at about 9 kilometers west of the Comilla main city. Here lies the two historical hills called the Mainamati hill-Lalmai hill . ridge which is believed to have more than 50 ancient Buddhist settlements from the 8th to the 11th century A.D.

History of Comilla

Comilla is very beautiful city. It is a major city of Bangladesh.Gomti is only one river of comilla.Its coming from india(Tripura).A muslim army called KAMILLA settled in this area at the starting of 16th  century while muhammad Hossain was the ruler  of Gouro Province. Since this man settled here.This area has identified as  "comilla" from the Mughal rule.Comilla was a very popular area since the British Rule, as the evolution of comilla's progress has started from the very beginning.





Comilla Cantonment is very nice place,Its established by the British Crown after World War I in order to maintain military chain over this area.

Comilla is also historically recognized for participation of its people in Independence movement of 1947 & 1971. In Muktijuddho Comilla movement was administered by Mokti Bahini Sector number 2 which had Major Mhammad Khaled Mosharraf (later Major General of Bangladesh Army) as its commanding officer.

Now comilla is very important administrative center of Bangladesh. comilla location also very beautiful.
